These cubes are really cool, especially when they are set up and used as a daytime playpen for guinea pigs. I use these same metal cubes every day. I lay out a vinyl table cloth on the floor, then line the cubes up, using four cubes on the sides, and three on each end, giving the guineas 12 square feet of running around space. You can see a picture of it in the gallery of photos. If you don’t want to wait for them to be shipped from Amazon, you might find them at Target but not at Wal-Mart. Shipping is free with Amazon and it may be a quick delivery.

If this is your first guinea pig, providing them with PLENTY of Timothy Hay is a must. It really helps them keep their ever-growing teeth from becoming too long. If your guinea pig just stares at you and you can’t figure out what is going on, just check to see if he is out of Timothy Hay! They get beside themselves when the supply runs out.

You have seen one of these in some of my pictures. My Sparky just loves his great big igloo. I think they come in three different sizes. You can’t go wrong on getting one of these. They last a long long time, you will notice that your guinea pig will run into his/her igloo quite frequently because they have a “prey” attitude meaning they are usually prey for larger animals and they instinctively know this, so the igloo provides a shelter for them. My 5 year young Sparky still runs into his cage although there are no threats to him in our home.

This cage is very similar to one of the two cages that I have for my guinea pigs Sparky and Rudy. It is hard to find one for much less in price that would be roomy enough for one or two guinea pigs. They need at least about a two feet by three feet cage in order to be comfortable.
